Encouraging the human spirit since 2005

Precious Messenger Productions began in 2005 with a singular vision: the arts as a sanctuary for the human spirit. Our founder, Akua Taylor—whose name means Precious Messenger—began this journey at Fisk University. It was there she wrote her first song, <Reach Higher> and sold her own CDs in the campus bookstore, laying the groundwork for a career dedicated to restorative storytelling and creative empowerment.

From her senior project on Assata Shakur to producing <Approve> musical workshops for women and children in domestic violence shelters, Akua has spent two decades proving that music is medicine. Her work as a facilitator with after-school theatre organizations and the creation of immersive live experiences like <Song Lake> and <4Thirty2> have long transported audiences to places of deep healing and reflection.

A New Chapter of Impact

In a milestone move to secure this legacy for the future, Precious Messenger Productions officially transitioned to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in December 2023. This evolution allows us to expand our mission—moving from an LLC to a permanent community resource dedicated to uplifting creatives through Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and professional arts training.

Reaching Higher in the Digital Age

Today, Precious Messenger Productions is bridging its grounded history with a global, virtual future. We are leading by example with the March 2026 release of Akua’s Afrofuture single, which serves as the technical and spiritual blueprint for our programs.

Through our 1-Week Virtual Intensive launching this June, we provide a digital stage for students to work on their own musical truths. Whether through one-on-one vocal encouragement or our high-speed virtual accelerators, Precious Messenger Productions remains committed to the principle that started it all: providing the tools for every human spirit to reach higher.
